Sunday & Monday, 18 & 19 May 2003
Hello! A rainy, thundery morning and a cloudy day - this was Sunday. 2-3 feet waves,
strong current and 3 or 4 surfers out. However, in the afternoon, with high tide came some
bigger swells, so that La Paz got really busy by lots of surfers. Monday morning - the
same procedure as Sunday. Well, see you tomorrow - [Thomas]

Buenos días - que ondas? Today's pictures show one of the best and biggest waves of this
morning. It took the 6 surfers out some time to ride waves like this: sets consisted of
2-3 waves (4-6 feet) but between each set they had to wait approximately 10 minutes.
However, sea surface was clean, still no wind and a lot of smaller waves (2-3 feet). I
think Punta Roca was indeed very attractive this week and I'm curious what the next week
will bring... Stay tuned & see you! - [Thomas]

Hello, this is Thomas again from Punta Roca, La Libertad. I'm late - 12.45 - but I have a
good excuse: watch out today's photos! This morning was awesome. During the night, a new
big swell came in and brought us very powerful and fast 6-8 feet waves (no wind and glassy
sea surface)! This time 13 surfers were out and gave me some nice pictures for you - thank
you! The surf report for Saturday and Sunday will be written on Monday - Weekend;-) Have a
nice time! - [Thomas]

¡Buenas días! The conditions didn't change since Tuesday: most waves were about 3-4
feet, no current, clean sunny sea surface and no wind. At regular intervals, some nice
sets (2-4 lines with powerful 6-7 feet waves) delighted the small group of 5 surfers. As
the weekend approaches and Mango's Lounge in La Libertad is going to be rocked on Saturday
by "Ayutush", we invite you to join us... See you! - [Thomas]

Wednesday, 14 May 2003
Early in the morning, the waves were still like yesterday - nothing special, but pure fun.
3-4 feet, no wind, no current, a glassy blue sea and only 5 (!) surfers out. Around 8
o'clock, a new swell came in with bigger waves (5 feet and more) which seems to bring us
some good sets along the week! Besides, today's pictures were taken from a new point of
view... ¡Hasta mañana! - [Thomas]

Punta Roca was fun this morning! Waves were smaller then yesterday (4-6 feet), but the
glassy sea surface and perfect lines without any current and wind compensated all... As
the waves got bigger in the last few days, there were a lot of surfers out this morning
(15-20 people). Nevertheless the Pacific wasn't stingy and gave Mama Roca plenty of waves
for everyone... ¡Hasta mañana! - [Thomas]

Monday, 12 May 2003
Punta Roca was perfect! 6 feet, glassy and 10people out (5 buggie boarders) with plenty of
waves for everyone.
The East Coast was awesome too but there was a lot of current, almost like a night mare
where you see the perfect waves in front of you but you can't reach them because of the
current! At the east there were only 5 guys out!

Welcome to the first daily surf report!.
The waves today where choppy early morning until 8am where it began cleaning up but a new
bigger swell is starting to show! It was head high to two feet overhead at Punta Roca with
some insane wave shoulders that suddenly cleared up. Take a look.
